I had trouble figuring out a topic to focus on for the ePortfolio since there is so much that interests me. I wanted to bring in economics since it is such an important topic and something I have knowledge in previously. In hindsight focusing on agriculture was obvious as it ties together multiple issues that I am interested in, including economic development. I wouldn’t say my views on the subject changed during the semester; if anything it further cemented them. I did gain a wider understanding of certain issues as well as how they are seen in anthropology. Focusing on it was useful as well in exposing me to different ideas and sources to potentially use in my masters thesis and to see the variety of alternatives which exist.
